Seven Crucial Elements of Visitor Friendly Websites

It has been more than a decade since Internet marketing and online service providers began and shoppers have increased tremendously. People know where and how to get things on the net now. They find them and grab them fast. They are in and out of their virtual shopping trip instantly and want to get what they are seeking easy. If you do not have what they are looking for then they will be gone in an instant. Your goal is to keep them on your site and get them to return. You want to get them to ultimately to buy what it is you have. If applied right, there are crucial elements that achieve this for you. You must be sure to make sure you do all of them. This will give you the results you want.

1. Consistency in your layout and navigation that promotes ease and interest

There have been so many studies done on what people prefer when going onto a site. This includes how they want things laid out and what they expect to find. A white background with black text is the most preferred and offers the easiest read. You must also make sure that your site is easy to navigate through and is consistent. Frequent visitors will get used to your navigation system quickly, but you need to make sure it is just as simple for first time visitors. People look for the same navigation points on each visit to bring them to specific pages and back again. If they cannot find where they just came from or where they were on a previous visit, they will leave. It causes too much frustration for the user. Make sure you use the same color scheme on all of your pages. You want the reader to be interested but not visually overloaded with too much design and color. If you don’t believe you would be able to design your own ask for help. You can pay a web master to build a tasteful site for you. Or you can go with a pre-designed template that is tasteful. Most web designing hosts offer several templates to choose from and are easy to work with and tweak to exactly what you want.

2. Clear copy and easy to read words equals more sales!

Be as clear as possible. No one wants to read a bunch of nonsense and complicated technical jargon. Your targeted audience will already know about the entire technical lingo and doesn’t need to see it again. That will make your visitors leave. Use high lighting to mark key benefits and features to make them stand out. Write from the heart and show your clients you know what you are talking about by making it easy to read. They want to know that you are an authority on this subject. You want your readers to know that you truly know what you are talking about and not just fluffing through it.

3. Fast loading pages don’t frustrate your visitors

You want to stay away from designs with heavy imagery. Use text navigation for your site. If your page is too long, then break it up appropriately. This will greatly speed up your pages loading time so visitors don’t get frustrated and just leave.

4. Headlines, taglines, and logos

Use short headlines or calls to action on every page when you can. These make visitors read further down the page. Always use taglines through your pages to brand your site. Put your logo on every page. This will further brand your company and its products and/or services.

5. Use personal photos, addresses, phone numbers and build credibility!

The Internet market is so impersonal and many won’t purchase online in fear that there is no real person behind it. People are very cautious on the things they cannot see face-to-face. It is your job to make yourself known and ease some of their fears. Best sure-fire way to do this is to have your company’s address and phone number on every page. If you work from home, then this would be either that address or a PO box address you have set up for business. People like to deal with other real people and know that they are truly there. Include a page about you and anyone else working with you. Put up your photo and write a little introduction of who you are and why you are here. You will gain instant credibility.

6. Audio greetings and customer testimonials.

There are plenty of great and easy to use audio tool available these days. Create a short audio greeting. This will help build much more credibility for your visitors to hear a human voice. These are the things that turn visitors into buyers. Collect and use the testimonies of your previous customers. Put up your best ones on your page. This will show new visitors that you have been around for a while. Plus it says you have made many companies happy with your goods.

7. Be available and answer inquiries promptly

When you receive e-mails inquiring about your product or service, respond as soon as you get it. Make sure you are checking your mail frequently. This can mean the difference between a sale and repeat customer and someone slamming your name all over the Internet. You don’t want to be branded as a bad sales person. The bad travels around much faster than the good. Create a FAQ center that gives general answers to the most common questions people have asked. This will help limit your e-mail to more in-depth questions.
